Ludlow Brewery Race Day Returns on Wednesday October 5th 2022

Shropshire racegoers are "champing at the bit" for the return of Ludlow Brewery’s annual race day.

Ludlow Brewery Race Day is back on October 5^th with an entertaining afternoon of top-notch horse racing, betting and beers, in partnership with Ludlow Racecourse.

he action-packed 7-race card begins at 1.40pm, with the last race scheduled for 5:07pm. Gates open at 11.40am. Alongside the racing, the brewery will be serving a range of award-winning cask ales and craft beers, as well as other alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.

Based near the racecourse, a barrel’s throw from Ludlow Railway Station, The Ludlow Brewing Company has six permanent beers, and also create a number of specials throughout the year under their "Derailed" brand.

Ludlow Brewery Managing Director Gary Walters said: "The race day is one of our favourite days of the year. It’s a great chance to socialise with publicans and customers, and fantastic to see everyone relaxing and enjoying themselves, during an exciting action-packed afternoon. The atmosphere has been incredible at each of the three race days that have taken place so far, with a hiatus in 2020 due to Covid."

The racecourse is less than three miles away from the brewery, so racegoers couldn’t get beer more local than that, and the beers certainly seem to go down well alongside the betting. The Ludlow Brewery Raceday badge admits to all areas of the racecourse except the Annual Members' Club Room and the Owners and Trainers Lounge. Facilities include: two bars situated in the Windsor Marquee opposite the grandstand, and Tattenhall "Tatts" Bar (the free drink can be obtained from either bar), two cafes, one carvery restaurant in The Clive Pavilion, Tote betting facilities and all outside bookmakers.
