Sustainability - Our Green Credentials

Fancy a sustainable pint?

These days it seems that every business is claiming to be sustainable and wants to be seen to be green, but we can truly say this has been a core part of our ethos since the company was founded. During the design of the current brewery every effort was made to ensure that an environmentally-friendly and low-carbon facility was established. In recognition of the innovation, the business won the Ludlow Heritage Award in 2011. The renovation was judged to be exemplary in terms of preserving and enhancing the character, through the use of both ancient and modern building materials; while the high-quality craftsmanship upholds the best traditions of construction in historic Ludlow.

We’re proud to be a local friendly brewery that makes good, honest beer for all those who enjoy a proper pint. We are aware of how businesses can impact the environment and we do our best to minimise the impact of our activities.

So, when you drink our beer say ‘Cheers!’ with a clearer conscience!

Local to Ludlow

A cornerstone of our environmental ethos is about staying local: From the majority of the hops we use in brewing, to our anti-beer miles policy (95% of our trade is within a 50-mile radius), and to our suppliers.

Solar Powered Beer

We have turned to sunlight to meet our sustainability targets, with solar panels installed on the roof of our cold storage unit. Solar energy is meeting up to 95% of our electricity demand for brewing.

Check out some of the ways we help the planet
